A Letter from President Fitzgibbons

Faculty, students and staff –

First, I want to sincerely thank you for your continued patience and grace as our IT teams work with third-party forensics experts and law enforcement to investigate and resolve this situation. I want to assure you our teams are working around the clock to restore normal operations and get our systems up and running.

As you likely saw via RU alerts, yesterday our teams detected an external malicious threat that likely originated outside the country. As a matter of precaution and in order to fully investigate the potential issue, we proactively shut down our IT systems, including phones, email and our website.

We understand this has been disruptive to normal daily operations. Unfortunately, this type of incident is increasingly common, which is why we are working diligently to protect and restore our systems as safely as possible.

I know many of you have questions about what this means for you. We are committed to providing updates as we continue to make progress in restoring our systems. We will be providing those updates via RU alerts, social media and RegisUpdates.com. Please check back often and help us by sharing this information with members of the Regis community.

I regret the inconvenience this has caused, especially at this particular time. I appreciate your continued support during this frustrating time. This will not deter us from celebrating our new and returning Rangers as we start the new academic year. Please know our students continue to be our top priority.
